Praying God's Promises
Anxiety
I will not worry about my life,
what I will eat or drink;
or about my body,
what I will wear.
Is not life more important than food,
and the body
more important than clothes?
Look at the birds of the air;
they do not sow or reap
or store away in barns,
and yet my heavenly Father feeds them.
Am I not much more valuable than they?
Can I, by worrying,
add a single hour to my life?
And why do I worry about clothes?
See how the lilies of the field grow.
They do not labor or spin.
Yet I tell myself
that not even Solomon in all his splendor
was dressed like one of these.
If that is how God
clothes the grass of the field,
which is here today
and tomorrow is thrown into the fire,
will he not much more clothe me?
So I will not worry,
saying, 'What shall we eat?'
or 'What shall we drink?'
or 'What shall we wear?'
For the pagans run after all these things
and my heavenly Father
knows that I need them.
I will seek first his kingdom
and his righteousness,
and all these things will be given to me as well.
Therefore I will not worry about tomorrow,
for tomorrow will worry about itself.
Matthew 6:25-34 Personalized

I lift up my eyes to the hills —
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.

He will not let my foot slip —
he who watches over me will not slumber;
indeed, he who watches over me
will neither slumber nor sleep.

The Lord watches over me —
the Lord is my shade at my right hand;
the sun will not harm me by day,
nor the moon by night.

The Lord will keep me from all harm —
he will watch over my life;
the LORD will watch over my coming and going
both now and forevermore.
Psalm 121 Personalized

Peace Jesus left me;
his peace he gave me.
He did not give to me as the world gives.
I will not let my heart be troubled
and will not be afraid.
John 14:27 Personalized

I will not be anxious about anything,
but in everything,
by prayer and petition,
with thanksgiving,
present my requests to God.
And the peace of God,
which transcends all understanding,
will guard my heart and my minds
in Christ Jesus.
Whatever I have learned
or received
or heard from him,
I will put it into practice.
And the God of peace will be with me.
Philippians 4:6-7/9 Personalized

because he cares for me.
1 Peter 5:6 Personalized

I will stand firm, then,
and will not let myself be burdened again
by a yoke of slavery.
