Holy Week
and Easter
Room
Holy Week (the week preceding Easter) commemorates the incidents leading up to the day of Jesus’
resurrection. Holy Week begins on Palm Sunday and ends on Holy Saturday. Easter Sunday then becomes the
celebration of His resurrection.

By recognizing these holiest of days, is to believe beyond all doubt, that the soul is eternal. And it is to believe
that the love of our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ,  is the one thing we experience that will last and remain for
all eternity.

The events depicted within this room represent:
Palm Sunday:
They took palm branches and went out to meet him,
shouting, "Hosanna!" "Blessed is he who comes in the
name of the Lord!"
John 12:13
Holy Thursday:
And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to
them, saying, "This is my body given for you; do this in
remembrance of me." In the same way, after the supper he
took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my
blood, which is poured out for you.
Luke 22:19-20
Good Friday:
Then Pilate took Jesus and had him flogged. The soldiers
twisted together a crown of thorns and put it on his head.
They clothed him in a purple robe and went up to him again
and again, saying, "Hail, king of the Jews!" And they struck
him in the face.
John 19:1-3
From the sixth hour until the ninth hour darkness came
over all the land. About the ninth hour Jesus cried out in a
loud voice, "Eloi, Eloi,  lama sabachthani?"-which means,
"My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"
Matthew 27:45-46
Holy Saturday:
The women who had come with Jesus from Galilee followed
Joseph and saw the tomb and how his body was laid in it.
Then they went home and prepared spices and perfumes. But
they rested on the Sabbath in obedience to the
commandment.
Luke 23:55-56
Then Simon Peter, who was behind him, arrived and went
into the tomb. He saw the strips of linen lying there, as
well as the burial cloth that had been around Jesus' head.
The cloth was folded up by itself, separate from the linen.
. . He saw and believed.
John 20:6-8
